There are several considerations to think of when selecting a tent; there is a brief outline of some of the most important questions below to help you make a decision that is right for your situation.
1. How many People do you need to accomodate.
All tent sleeping capacities are based on how many people lying side-by-side can sleep in a tent, based on an average adult of 180cm.
In practice for comfortable sleeping room, allowing for mattresses and bagage etc. you should generally half the manufacturers specification.
2. Frequency of use & general exposure conditions.
Is this tent something you will use once, a couple of times a year or most weekends?
Are you generally in moderate weather conditions or on the beach front?
All of our tents are made to a high finished quality however some are designed for lighter more casual use and others to battle frequent use and tougher conditions.
No tent is designed to be setup as a permanet structure but generally canvas tents and PVC floors are indicators of longer lasting, tougher tents.
3. Packed Size & Weight
Is this tent something you need to pack in a backpack, on a bike, in the back of a small vehicle or a large vehicle?
Are you going to be able to carry it and lift it by yourself or will you need assitance?
4. Ease & Time of Setup
Are you touring and going to be setting your tent up and down each day?
Or are you planning on setting up camp in the one location for the weekend or week away?
Do you generally arrive in the evening when it is dark?
How many people do you have available to assist in setting your tent up?
