Blackwolf Isopod 2 Hiking Tent

This is my first "4 season" tent. It is slightly heavier due to the extra fabric, but this makes the tent far more useful - you can either leave the solid fabric zipped up over the mesh to cut the wind and cold right out, or unzip the solid fabric to just leave the mesh and the breeze to go through. I purchased this tent predominately for multi-day off-road bike treks and so far it has been excellent for this purpose. There are lighter tents available, but you have to pay a huge amount more to get a tent that is light, but also 4-season suitable. Oh the tent does not come with a ground sheet. I never used to use them with my tent, but the floor material is so thin on this one (probably to keep weight down). Therefore I found a tarp that is roughly right for the tent's footprint and have been using that.

I was very pleased with the service and the tent is great. Seem to have plenty of room inside and it is good for air flow having a door with a mesh window each side plus a small awning to store your gear. I bought this for travelling on my motor bike around OZ. the last tent I had was a mesh inner tent and in the mornings it used to drip condensation on you and wake you up, this tent has windows of mesh that are at the top or in the doors and you do not get this problem. All in all a great tent.

I bought this tent for motorcycle touring so the weight of the tent wasn't an issue compared to smaller hiking tents. What was important to me was having enough room to store my gear under cover and being able to get in or out in wet weather without dumping water inside the tent. Having two doors means one of them should always be away from the weather side and fly more than covers the inner tent when the fly is open. Also important was the extra head room. Not many other tents are available that fitted my criteria as well as the Isopod 2. Overall I think it is an excellent tent.
