Blackwolf Tuff Dome Tent

I bought this tent for my dog and I. There is ample room for us and our gear. I'm 6'3 and can sleep comfortably stretched out! Tall guys will appreciate that. I set it up on my own no problems. So far it has been used down in Victoria (over August) for approx 12 nights straight at times in very strong gusty winds (60km/hr verified on wind meter) and heavy rain (most of the time). No rain leaking or damage to the tent. The aluminium poles are very strong, much stronger than your typical fibreglass ones. There are heaps of tie down points which is reassuring and adds to strength. I'm the kind of person who always uses all guy ropes and tie downs, so unless you're super keen, I wouldn't suggest this tent if your moving to a different location every day because it would get pretty annoying to fully establish this tent daily. When I was trying to decide between this tent and a Coleman instant-up the deciding factor was this tent had strong poles a large vestibule and more tie downs. Very glad I chose this one. Materials are top notch. The gusset windows are a god send in cold weather when you still need ventilation to stop condensation. The windows didn't let rain in when very windy and raining. The pegs are actually quite good! But I would also buy some longer ones just in case, like me, you need to set up on softer ground (where short ones won't do any good) If you're looking for a very good quality tent, spacious and strong and are sick of cheap tents that leak/break in a short time, then I'd seriously consider this thing. I'm very happy and know I will get a long service life out of this tent. Would not hesitate to recommend this tent to anyone who wants a quality tent that ticks all the boxes.

We camped last weekend as a test run for our new Tuff Dome, as we were upgrading from our little Gobi. The east coast of NSW was being battered by high winds with 'cyclonic' gusts, and we bore the brunt of it where we were. The Tuff Dome went up fairly quickly, just me and my 7 and 4 year old boys to 'help'. Colour coded buckles make aligning the fly on the base hassle free. The quality in the materials used is obvious, and the number of tie-downs was very comforting in the conditions. We had to retreat into the tent by 6.30pm as the winds were making it uncomfortable outdoors, and once inside were fine. The tent didn't budge. Plenty of room, good head height, nice sized vestibule too.... Highly recommended.

Definitely worth the upgrade to the Tuff tent. In the Blackwolf Dome range, this has one of the higher denier flies materials and it really shows. The strength of the material is great. The colour is a nice green that doesn't feel out of place in a natural setting. There are so many tie down points that this tent could probably withstand a hurricane and the tent pegs are super strong. I am very happy with this tent. Excellent airflow too!

I`ve had a blackwolf tuff dome 4 man tent before and they are with out a doubt one of the best tents I`ve ever owed. I`ve had many tents in my camping years and the only other one of the same quality is the Coleman 6 man geodesic dome with alcove off the front, but it is alot harder to put up by yourself. My only negative is the quality of the zips, over the years I`ve had to replace the 2 outer front fap zips and eventually the front D door inner zip. I`d happily pay a $100 more if all major opening to the outer and inner openings ( apart from the side windows, I`ve never had a problem with them) were heavy duty stainless. I might add in using the Coleman for over 10 years I never had to replace a zip, but having said that I still think the Blackwolf Tuff dome is a fanastic tent. I`m a very keen fly fisher and I call the Blackwolf my Eucumbene Hilton
