Reviews of Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall
Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall(1) By: Andrew moore on 21 April 2018If you intend on using in the wind buy something else. Left this shade erected in windy conditions pegged down and secured thought it would be ok . Got up the next morning and the frame and guy ropes were solid as a rock, except the cover was torn to pieces. Not impressed!
Tentworld ResponseSorry to hear of the damage to your Event 14. What you've described sounds really strange. I myself, and several of my friends own Event 14s and we have had our Event 14s go through some seriously cyclonic conditions. They do need to be fully pegged out, and the legs positioned correctly in order to endure these conditions and be pushed to the limits. They will also need attendance during the night to stop any flapping (if you hear flapping, it is causing great damage). It will probably mean not the best nights sleep in these situations, but it does mean your camping gear will survive the night. Ideally, they should be packed away in extreme conditions. So what has happened to your Event 14 is strange. Please take pictures of what's happened and email them through so we can investigate what happened here. Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall(5) By: Lucia Lemke on 30 March 2018I ordered on Monday and received it in Sydney on Thursday. The product itself is very well put together and good quality. We are very happy with the purchase and delivery time
Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall(4) By: Eamonn McLynskey on 4 March 2018A bit difficult to set up on the first go but worth the effort. Very good value for money.
Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall(2) By: Fiona on 3 March 2018Put ours up over the pool on 13 Jan. Has since disintegrated in the sun and ripped apart, only got 6 weeks out of it! Thought it would be more durable for soy Australian conditions
Tentworld ResponseThanks for your review! These Event 14s do make great temporary pool covers, but they're not meant to be left up as permanent structures for months on end. Unfortunately the UV rays are so strong here that all materials will fail from constant exposure. The Event 14 is designed to be a portable structure, so ensuring the material is lightweight, foldable and affordable are key factors. Coleman are also aware that our customers are wanting a product that will last them for a reasonable amount of time but there is a balancing act between portability, and durability which is always a fine balance. For a permanent structure, these criteria are not as important and then focus can be shifted on pure durability. For a good permanent pool cover you should look elsewhere. Fortunately, you can buy replacement covers for the Event 14 so if your pole frame is in good condition, you can replace the cover and keep enjoying! I hope this helps. Coleman Event 14 Standard with Sunwall(3) By: Patrick Ryan on 12 February 2018I like the sturdy frame of this shelter and the size is excellent. However I find the fly is not thick enough and the shelter can still get a bit warm in the middle of summer. Is the delux fly compatible with standard frame?
Tentworld ResponseGlad you like your new Event 14 Shelter! The frame for the Event 14 Standard and Event 14 Deluxe are identical, the only difference between the two models is the cover. The Deluxe Cover is much more water resistant, and is made from higher quality materials... The Deluxe Fly is 150D/185T vs 75D/185T so the Deluxe will last longer, but as far as shedding heat, there is not that much difference. Unfortunately with any thin material, it will radiate heat pretty quickly after pitching if it's in the direct sun. The only way to cool down is to try maximize ventilation. You could try lining the roof with insulation, but I have never seen that done and it is pretty bulky stuff. I hope you find this info helpful! Kind Regards, Tentworld team.
