Explore a new frontier in on and off road navigation with the new Hema HX-1 Navigator! The HX-1 stays true to the core tenets of what has made Hema navigation devices so great, and builds upon them to provide the next level of usability and functionality while still focusing on the fundamental strength of all Hema products: the mapping.
The HX-1 comes bundled with a cradle and windscreen mount, a 12V/24V car charger and a mini-usb cable. It also has a drawstring pouch for protection and a Quick Start Guide. In terms of specifications, the HX-1 features a 1024 x 60 pixels screen, 16GB of internal memory, a powerful 1GB of RAM, and the battery is an impressive 5000mAH battery which lasts up to six hours of charge depending on the settings. The HX-1 is a hybrid on and off-road navigation unit featuring dedicated drive and explore navigation programs for straight and 4WD travel. The home screen of the device shows the date and time on the top left hand side. On the top right there's battery, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi indicators. Click the 'help' button on the screen in order to bring up a user guide.
The most prominent feature is the 7in multi-touch screen, which is accompanied by a power and charging indicator on the left, and the power button is located above this on the top of the unit. A short press and hold will turn on the HX-1, or wake it up from sleep. Down the left hand side of the HX-1 is an auxiliary port for headphone input, there's also a microSD slot for memory expansion that's capable of handling a 32GB card. A microphone can be found beside this, which captures audio in video record mode. Additonal memory is useful for storing photos and videos you capture with your HX-1. The mini-usb port is the primary purpose for charging the device, either from the included car charger or mini USB cable. On the back of the unit is a speaker and a 5-megapixel for taking geotagged photos, and recording videos up to 480p at 15 frames per second. The HX-1's WiFi connectivity makes downloading additional maps, content and device updates quick and easy, so you can spend less time indoors and more time exploring off the beaten track!
The HX-1 features street navigation for Australia and New Zealand, with precise voice guidance that includes alerts like speed and red light camera warnings, timed school zones, visual lane guidance and more for you to confidently navigate to addresses, coordinates and points of interest. Reviews of Hema HX-1 Navigator
Hema HX-1 Navigator(5) By: Bill on 25 November 2016I have had this product for just on a week and on first impression, I must say that I am very happy. The suction cap is very firm on the screen and has a solid feel when the screen is locked in place. No rattles or falling off. Quite easy to adjust the tilt and turn but ensure that you are holding the unit when doing this to ensure that it all doesn't fall out of your hands due to the weight. (Almost dropped it first go in my Amarok trying to get the "perfect" 'spot!) The screen is very easy to read even in the sun and I find the GPS locks on within 10 or so seconds. So far I have only used the Sat Nav option and it is quite intuitive and simple to read and use. I have used the Hema maps on my tablet and phone for years so it helps knowing the overall feel of it, but, there are more tweaks to this unit that I have not explored as yet. The H button is a great idea as a back button from any screen which when driving is a huge plus. So, for a week's use I can' fault it, and, have had a few glances my way by other 4x4 users! Worth the purchase !
