Mr Heater Portable Buddy - Portable Gas Heater(4) By: Julieann on 22 May 2017It arrived today quick delivery. Had to laugh. This is sold and promoted as a camping heater yet in large bold print it has.. Never use in a caravan, tent, camper trailers or boat, use in outdoor areas???? Yet to try it.
Tentworld ResponseI'm sure you'll love your new portable heater! It's great to use under the tarp and as a great way to warm up in a sheltered area. The trouble with gas heaters like these is that they emit carbon monoxide which is an odourless lethal gas. Without adequate ventilation this can kill you. Caravans etc are all small, and designed to be air tight to prevent dust getting in, but this also stops oxygen getting in. Even with indoor household flueless gas heaters, they advise to never use in small enclosed spaces, and to always ensure you have some amounts of ventilation and they must meet very strict emission conditions to be legally sold in Australia. Unfortunately, to stay warm inside the tent or caravan the best way is to wear adequate clothing, or if 240v power is available use an electric heater where it's safe to do so. Hope this helps! Happy Camping - Tentworld Team.
