Description

The new OZtrail Tourer 450 Cabin Fast Frame Tent is fast becoming the new "must have" at campsites around Australia!

If you are looking for a tent that you won't waste any time on either setting up or packing down then the OZtrail Fast Frame series of tents is just for you. Perfect for touring, the Fast Frame tents are high quality and easy to use for weekend trips but even if you intend to stay at your campsite for a longer period of time you will find these tents both comfortable and practical. Small enough to take anywhere but big enough to fit you, your camping and sleeping gear, whatever your preferences are when camping outdoors an OZtrail Fast Frame tent is everything you need.

The OZtrail Tourer 450 Cabin Fast Frame Tent provides a truly large awning space coupled with a fully integrated folding frame. This model is the perfect mix of rugged design and quality materials, born and bred for Aussie touring.

The OZtrail Tourer 450 Cabin Fast Frame Tent is designed to be super easy to set up – simply peg out the four corners, extend the corner poles and the tent will stand up before you. Finally, draw the fly over the inner tent, set up your awning and relax! Ideal for touring where you’re putting your tent up and down each day or for someone who prefers to spend less time setting up and more time relaxing. Includes a large front awning for plenty of shade (spreader bar for awning included). A lightweight design makes it easy to carry to your campsite too.

The fly is constructed from 150 Denier rip-stop polyester material and Silver Coated UVTex® 2000 Sun Tough Fly fabric - the UVtex® treatment not only protects the fly from harsh UV rays, but it also doubles as a 100% waterproof barrier. Factory heat taped seams keep the tent waterproof by preventing seam leakage and Posi-Brace™ securely fastens your fly to the tent with these Velcro® attachment points.

The inner tent is constructed from 150 denier polyester with No-See-Um mesh windows for ventilation but no biting insects. Tensile Tab™ with J-Hooks keeps the poles firmly in position during periods of high wind while Tensile Loops™ act as shock absorbers at the peg down and guy rope points for greater stability and durability.

The OZtrail Tourer 450 Cabin Fast Frame Tent also has a heavy duty DryFloor incorporating a bucket style floor with elevated seams keeping the moisture out but more importantly, you dry, and an Easy Step D Door which is an oversize D-shaped door for easy access to the interior with lower sills to minimise tripping.

The large mesh walls on the inner tent allow for great flow through ventilation. Large windows are built into the outer tent to allow you to completely control the climate. DryGuard™ Plus protects windows from the wind-driven rain with storm flaps that Velcro together. The poles system is a heavy gauge 16/20 mm steel frame with non-corrosive plastic hubs provides quick set up, greater strength and improved water shedding.

The OZtrail Tourer 450 Cabin is ideal for moderate to tropical conditions. This is a great tent that is perfect for touring!

FAST FRAME TENTS
OZtrail loves innovation. We have a long history of bringing new products to market, and taking existing concepts and giving them a fundamental rework. Whilst quick set up tents are not a brand new concept, there has been limited development past their initial concepts. This is something that we believe it is time to address, and this season we are starting to bring innovation back to quick set up tents with our Fast Frame range.

QUALITY MATERIALS
Even the best designs and expert machinists will fall short if the materials are not right for them. We have ensured that the materials used on the Fast Frame series are ready for the great outdoors. Hard wearing 150 Denier 100% Polyesters with rip stop weaving have been utilised throughout the tent. That includes the tent body itself and the fly sheet. The folding mechanisms utilise high tensile steels to ensure the best strength to weight performance. These folding systems are supported by ABS plastic joints and hubs. ABS plastics are used because of their excellent tolerance for shock absorbance and stress. The combination of these materials makes for a durable, compact and lightweight folding frame system.

DESIGN AND RANGE
Quick set up tents lend themselves to touring holidays. Up and down in the space of a day and on to the next spot. But, there is no reason why only those looking for a small tent should be able to use a fast folding frame. That is why we have ensured that there is a wide range of sizes and configurations available. From the simple 4 people touring bred Cruiser 240, up to the larger models that are capable of a comfortable week or two away like the Tourer Cabin 450. What is common in both ranges though is the philosophy of quick and easy to operate. The setup difference between the largest and smallest models in the Fast Frame range is really only a couple of minutes.

SET UP
Whether going for a night or a fortnight, there is one part of enjoying the outdoors that isn’t so enjoyable – setting up and packing up your tent. There is no mistaking the fact that it feels like a chore. But, there is an option. By using modern design techniques specifically aimed at reducing set up time, it does not have to feel that way anymore. The Fast Frame series of tents combine the swift set up frame design with features and high-quality materials you’d expect from a much more expensive touring styled tent.

WHY IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER DESIGNS?
Simplicity in design is crucial, especially if you are going to be using this as your shelter for touring holidays. The Fast Frame design makes efficient use of pivot points to reduce the overall moving parts of the design. As well, a torsion system is integrated into the design, to improve its stability through the setup and pack down the process.

NO COMPROMISE
Despite a lot of effort going into the frame design, there has not been a compromise on the other essential features of the tent. Rip stop 150 denier polyester material is used on the fly sheet and inner tent – twice the thickness of a normal fly sheet material, and up to three times the thickness of normal inner tent material. But, it isn’t just quality features that have been included, simple features that make your tent more liveable have been included too.

LAYOUTS THAT MAXIMISE YOUR LIVING SPACE
Often fast folding designs skimp on certain features, often the one they do miss is a functional awning area. The Fast Frame series uses a minimum awning length of 1.8m on all models. As well, a full range of walls and floors have been purpose designed to make the awning an extra living space if and when required.

CRUISER AND TOURER MODELS
The Fast Frame series includes two ranges: Cruiser and Tourer. The Cruiser designs make use of a simple and efficient cap fly design. The Tourer designs include a full-length fly sheet and options for variable ventilation. So how do you choose between them?

CAP FLY V FULL FLY
Full fly tents are generally able to retain more warm air overnight. Cap fly tents, on the other hand, are cooler and allow easier air flow. So the time of year that you do most of your camping in will help to make this choice. If you only get out during the warmer months then a cap fly in the Cruiser range will suit your needs well. But, if you plan on doing all year touring – or love your winter touring – check out the full fly Tourer range.

WEATHER PROTECTION
A question that gets asked of these designs is their water and weather resistance, particularly so of cap fly designs. Both the inner tent and outer fly of these designs are made of waterproof materials. And, the design features around windows and exposed seams make their weather performance equal.

SET UP TIME DIFFERENCE
Despite the larger fly area, there is no setup time difference between the Cruiser and Tourer models. So if you prefer the flexibility of the Tourer design you are not penalised on set up times.

Excellent Tent. We are new to camping and had no dramas setting up. I would suggest a practice run first so you know what to expect. We copped a downpour with rain whilst we were camping and the tent kept us dry with no leaks. We also purchased the floor guard, side and front walls which I would recommend. As for Tentworld, I bought online and received very quickly. We did have a slight hiccup with a broken clip however a few emails to Teigan in their customer support team and all was resolved. Very pleased and special Thankyou to Teigan.

Used it twice now since we bought it a few weeks ago. Laying in bed we had water dripping on us, so it's definitely NOT 100% waterproof as stated. Very surprised at how unstable the tent is in a little bit of wind. The last day of our camping trip I was standing inside the tent & a gust of wind collapsed one corner pole, hitting me in the face. Luckily it didn't hit one of the kids!! Waste of money all around with this one. Very disappointed considering the cost.

Tentworld Tentworld ResponseSorry to hear you're not totally happy with your new OZtrail Cabin 450 Touring tent. Fortunately, I believe I can help you with both your complaints for this tent! In regards to the collapsing pole, this sounds like you did not have your guy ropes out. The guy ropes add critical strength to all tents, these are not optional - but absolutely essential to ensuring your tent is equipped to dealing with the wind. With the guy ropes out, and the fly properly attached - your pole couldnt have collapsed like you describe. RE: Tent not waterproof - what you're describing sounds like it is not leaking, but is condensation. Something even houses experience. Please test your tent at home using a garden hose, I expect you will find it is not leaking. To avoid condensation, ensure you always keep your tent well ventilated, regardless of the weather conditions. Failure to do this will result in condensation inside your tent which will drip on you. I expect when you test your tent you will find it is waterproof, but you must ensure you keep ventilation available to avoid condensation. I hope you've found the above tips helpful & you start to enjoy your tent! Kind Regards & Happy Camping, Tentworld team.

This tent is easy to put up and to get down but a bit tricky to get to the correct size for the carry bag. The roof of the tent is only bug screen material, and even with the fly over the top can be cool particularly if it is windy. Therefore it is a good summer tent but can be draughty and cold in the winter.

Poor quality and leaks when it rains.

Tentworld Tentworld ResponseHi Bianca, sorry to hear you're unhappy with your Cabin 450. This has been a popular tent in our range now for a few years. There is no known issues with quality, please email pictures of your concerns by replying to your purchase invoice email. We'll sort these out for you. In regards to leaking, have you tested this tent at home using a garden hose? I would recommend doing so. This will reveal whether your tent is leaking or not. Typically, these tents do not leak but in high humidity situations can suffer from condensation if most/all of the windows are closed. It's important to always maintain high levels of ventilation during wet weather to avoid condensation as much as possible. However, sometimes, like in your home in the right conditions you will still get some. Kind Regards, Tentworld team.

Very happy with our tent. It arrived super fast. Really easy to put up and take down. Like that it fits into the boot of our car easily. We also purchased the extra walls and are very happy having the extra covered area. Tent easily took our family of 5, plenty of space.
