reviews

The Back Country Cuisine (BCC) Muesli with yoghurt is the only BCC product I know of thats prepared with cold rather than boiling water. It also tastes nice. We have tried almost all of the BCC meals and sides, and the only ones we keep buying over & over are: Spaghetti Bol, Beef Curry, the vegetarian chick pea main which I can't seem to find anymore, Apple Pie, Porridge Supreme, Muesli with Y, instant Rice and Mixed Vegetables. Note that the mixed veg needs to be used as an ingredient in a recipe (even just a tin of soup), as it's not enjoyable on its own. 'BCC mixed veg is nicer than tinned mixed veg. The BCC mashed potatoes offer no advantage over the Deb ones in grocery store. Most mains with chunks of meat rather than mince are rejected by hubby due to texture, but beef curry served over rice gets OK mark. We have eaten single serve BCC out of packets with plastic spoons at road stops (hot water from thermos), but for a real meal 2-serve size packet over rice or mash, with veg/salad = a real meal.
