About the Company
Father and Son duo Rex and Alex Burrell established Burrell Outdoors Pty Ltd now trading as Tentworld in 1968. Over the past 55 years, the business has grown and changed significantly. Now employing over 200 staff in 15 locations.
 
The family ethos remains prevalent in the business today with Managing Director Alex Burrell, Financial Controller and wife of Alex - Barbara Burrell and General Manager Jon Burrell working within the business today. The Burrell family have always been avid campers, having gone on trips as a young family to places including Uluru and Fraser Island.
 
In the daily operations of the business, the Burrell family believe in dealing with their customers and Tentworld staff in a kind and fair manner. This includes ensuring that all camping gear and equipment sold by Tentworld is good value for money and will look after the users for many years to come.
 
Tentworld is heavily involved in the camping and caravanning industry and members of Caravanning Queensland and the Australian National Body Caravan, RV and Accommodation Industry of Australia (CRVA). Both Alex and Jon have been in advisory positions within these organisations at different times, and are passionate about ensuring that camping is accessible to everyone for generations to come.
