Reviews of Coleman Triton Instastart 2 Burner Stove
Coleman Triton Instastart 2 Burner Stove(1) By: Derek Jarrett on 30 September 2018This stove is the same, or very similar to, the 5469-750XA I bought about 4 years ago. I don't know how many times someone has bumped the stupid brass pipe on the side causing food to spill. In my opinion this is a downright dangerous feature of the stove. The piezos were the first thing to fail at about 18 months and then the sealing washer in the brass pipe split. This washer has been replaced several times. This holiday only half of one burner would light and the stove got knocked twice because of the pipe hanging out the side. Then one of the taps caught fire because of an O ring leak. Now I find that there are no parts (O ring kit) available for this model stove. I've always been concerned about safety with this stove and now with the parts issue it will have to be dumped and I certainly won't be buying Coleman again.
Tentworld ResponseHi Derek, thank you for your review. Sorry to learn about your frustrations with your stove. It is different to this one, and was sold at the same time as the Triton but some of your complaints are applicable to this stove too. In regards to the burners, it sounds like these need a good clean. Try giving them a scrub, and let them dry. You could also use some high pressure air on them. The reason they wont light, even with a match is because gas is not getting through - because the holes in the burner are clogged. In regards to the steel pipe out the site, we hear you, it can be a little annoying. I own the Eventemp myself, and have found that with some adjustment it's not so bad. I always keep the regulator and hose in the centre of the table, so that means my stoves always to the left on the table. This keeps the regulator & pipe in the middle of the table, away from potentially being knocked. I do enjoy the flexibility this gives me with being able to use disposable bottles from time to time. However, typically on longer trips I will always connect a hose to it and run from a larger refillable bottle. Hope this helps you above. Kind Regards, Tentworld team.
Coleman Triton Instastart 2 Burner Stove(3) By: Jake on 3 August 2018Mostly good quality, burners work well and good design. Unfortunately the locking latch is very poorly made, ours already is slipping off and wasn't aligned correctly out of the box.
Coleman Triton Instastart 2 Burner Stove(2) By: Liz on 21 April 2018No problems with the stove itself; however, the hose bulged on the first use, so we shelved the whole thing to avoid an accident.
Tentworld ResponseSorry to hear the problems you're having with your gas hose! This is very strange. Please if you can take pictures & email them in reply to your invoice so we can sort this out for you ASAP. Kind Regards & Happy Camping ~ Tentworld team.
