This twin burner stove has good simmer control. In conditions of light to no wind the flame has a wide range of adjustment from full-on to a very slow simmer, just like a regular gas stove at home. The simmer control becomes more difficult as the wind increases and i noticed some loss of heat transfer to the pot/pan when in stronger breezes, even with the side shields up. The stove itself feels solid and fairly well made. For the price it seems quite good and certainly does the job cooking out bush. My only complaint is that the hose supplied with my stove started leaking after the first 7 days of use. You could hear the gas escaping where the hose connects into the stove. I had the hose tested at a BBQ Galore store and they confirmed it was the hose leaking, so i had to spend another $30 on a quality Australian made gas hose. No issues with the stove since. Overall 3 stars but would give it 4 if not for the quality of the hose.
