Zoleo Satellite Communicator

The Zoleo Satellite Communicator is designed to keep you connected when travelling beyond mobile coverage. Working in conjunction with the free Zoleo mobile app, the device automatically delivers messages over satellite, cellular and Wi-Fi networks, allowing you to send and receive messages using the same app regardless of the available connection.

Powered by the Iridium® satellite network, the Zoleo Satellite Communicator provides global two-way messaging via SMS, email and app-to-app communication. Unlike traditional mobile networks that rely on ground-based towers, the Iridium network uses a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites to provide coverage across remote regions, oceans and other areas where mobile reception is unavailable. When cellular or Wi-Fi coverage is available, the Zoleo app automatically uses those networks before seamlessly switching to satellite connectivity when required. Each device includes a dedicated Australian mobile number and email address, making it easy for family, friends and colleagues to contact you using familiar communication methods.

In addition to messaging, the Zoleo Satellite Communicator incorporates a range of safety and location-based features including 24/7 monitored SOS emergency assistance, unlimited check-in messages, GPS location sharing, weather forecasts and access to non-emergency medical advice through the Zoleo app. The covered SOS button helps prevent accidental activations and supports cancellation should assistance no longer be required, while user-selectable audible message alerts help ensure important communications are not missed. An integrated GPS and GLONASS receiver provides location-aware functionality with positioning accuracy of up to 2.5 metres under ideal conditions. The rugged design is built for outdoor use, featuring IP68-rated dust and water resistance, MIL-STD 810G shock resistance and a rechargeable battery capable of providing more than 200+ hours of standby operation.

Dedicated LED indicators provide at-a-glance status information for messages, SOS alerts, check-in notifications and battery power. The Zoleo Satellite Communicator is Iridium® approved and certified to a range of international telecommunications and regulatory standards, including FCC, CE, ISED, ITU, RCM, GITECKI, REACH and RoHS, and has been tested to EN 60945 maritime navigation and radio communication equipment standards for EMC emissions and immunity.

An active Zoleo subscription plan is required to access satellite messaging, location sharing, weather forecasts, Medical Assist services and 24/7 monitored SOS emergency assistance. Once activated, users can choose from a range of subscription plans to suit different communication requirements, from occasional recreational use through to frequent remote travel and professional applications. Plans include unlimited check-in messages, while additional services such as Location Share+ tracking and message top-up options are also available. Plans can be managed online, allowing users to modify their subscription or move to a reduced-cost suspension plan when the device is not required, while retaining their dedicated mobile number and email address for future reactivation. A one-time activation fee applies when setting up a new Zoleo service.
